Saad Khan

Saad Khan, born in Mumbai, India, is an Indian film director, screenwriter, acting teacher, founder and creative head of Centerstage, a new wave media movement based in Bangalore that promotes new artists in the city.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=IMDB profile of Saad Khan )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=The Movement )〕 He has worked in Bollywood as an Associate Director to Oscar nominated filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. Saad made Bangalore's first Hindi feature film ''Station'',〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=Station (2014) )〕 independently produced by Sumit Ghosh and released across India by PVR Director's Rare as well as in Indonesia; the film received positive reviews and has all newcomers acting alongside established Bollywood actor, Gulshan Grover. In 2008, Khan's short film ''Another Kind of Black'' was screened in Cannes Film Festival.
In early 2015, Saad filmed his first Hollywood feature film titled ''LOVE AND SHE'' in Louisiana. Produced by Dr. Jatin Patel from Atlanta, the film is a romantic drama that deals with psychological stress and depression after a miscarriage, and is set to release in 2016.
After setting up a successful cinema training portfolio in Bangalore, Saad now lives in Mumbai and besides being an active filmmaker is also the Creative Head of F.A.C.E (Film Academy of Cinematic Excellence), a film school emphasizing practice housed at SJ studios, Andheri East, Mumbai.
==Early life and career==
Khan was born in Mumbai, India, and was raised in Bangalore. Khan studied at Baldwin Boys High School and St. Joseph's, eventually graduating as a Mechanical Engineer from M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology. While studying to be an engineer, he developed an interest in theatre at the age of 17 and started writing and directing plays, after spearheading a theatre group which produced over 12 plays in 4 years.
At this point Khan decided to pursue a career in film and media. After leaving college, Khan left for the United States to continue his education. In New York, he got a degree certificate in filmmaking from Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. He was awarded a study scholarship and assistantship, and was awarded his Master's degree in Communication and Media from University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He then returned to New York to complete the summer degree program in directing at Tisch.
After this he wrote and directed two short films, ''Another Kind of Black'' and ''On My Mind''. The former was selected at the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival, and the latter was shot in the south of the US and was screened at the Acadiana Film Festival. On his return to India, Khan assisted Ashutosh Gowariker on Bollywood film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey almost immediately. After a 2 year stint in Mumbai, he founded his media company Centerstage in Bangalore, which holds acting, communication and media workshops, produces stage shows, manages casting for films, ads, television commercials, viral videos and provides opportunities to aspiring artists in the city.
Khan is also the producer of the comedy show ''The Improv'' under the Centerstage banner. He has conceptualised it, hosts and directs 6 to 7 actors by taking scenarios from a live audience, with the actors performing them on the spot. The Improv was the first national act which was presented by Black Dog Easy Evenings in Hyderabad, after they toured with performers such as Russell Peters, Robert Schneider, and the team of ''Whose Line Is It Anyway?.'' ''The Improv'' toured internationally with well received shows in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Khan and producer Karan Rao floated a film production company, Gold Chase Motion Pictures, and have worked on promotional films and commercials for Prasad Bidapa and HCG Hospital, Granton Club Soda. Gold Chase Motion Pictures is also involved in the production of "Station", assisting Sumit Ghosh Media in its execution, and as a company provides creative content and end-to-end production of television commercials, ad films, digital video content for online purposes, and visual expertise for mobile applications and was.
In 2015, he received the ''Outstanding Alumnus Award'' from University of Louisiana at Lafayette and delivered a keynote speech addressing the outgoing undergraduate and graduate students of Communication in Film and Media.
